Getting started with Kanban Importer
Add the Power-Up, connect Trello, and turn a spreadsheet into a kanban board in about two minutes. One card per row, with lists, labels and dates.
Supported file formats
Kanban Importer reads five formats: CSV, TSV, Excel xlsx, OpenDocument ods and JSON, including Jira, GitHub and Trello board exports. No conversion step.
Matching columns to Trello card fields
How columns become card titles, lists, labels, members, dates and checklists, the ten fields available, and how to correct a wrong guess before importing.
Setting up a kanban board for agile work
Create Backlog, Ready, In Progress, In Review and Done automatically, then map user stories, acceptance criteria, story points and epics onto Trello cards.
Migrating from Jira, GitHub or another Trello board
Move issues out of Jira, GitHub or an existing Trello board into a Trello kanban board, with labels, assignees and checklists carried across in one import.
Troubleshooting
Fixes for the nine usual problems: no Import button, authorization failing, members not attaching, dates a day out, and rows that fail part way through a run.
